Room Deposit and No Post for ATP and ATR

A room deposit during hotel check-in is a temporary hold placed on a guest’s credit or debit card to cover potential incidental expenses during their stay. This may include charges for the mini bar, dining at hotel restaurants, retail purchases, local and international calls or access to facilities such as the waterpark. The deposit allows guests to conveniently charge expenses to their room account throughout their stay.
No post on a guest room" means that charges cannot be added or posted to the guest’s room account.
When a room is marked as "No Post", it typically indicates that:
The guest cannot charge anything (e.g. food, drinks, spa, retail purchases) to their room.
Any purchases must be paid for immediately at the point of sale—via cash, card, or other accepted payment methods.
This restriction is often applied when:
The guest is paying cash-only for their stay and hasn't provided a credit card for incidentals.
The hotel has been instructed (by the guest or for internal reasons) to limit or block room charging privileges.
There's a company or travel agency booking with specific billing instructions.
